50TH COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS OF AUSTRALIA

The Golden Guitars are at the heart of it all - at the heart of the journey for both artists and fans alike. Celebrating recording excellence and showcasing the cream of Australian country music artists, and the songs that have left their mark on the fans throughout the past 12 months, the night is the pinnacle awards event for country music.

In 2021, when COVID caused a very different Tamworth in January, the Golden Guitar Awards were still presented but in a smaller intimate setting and with table seating for the first time since being presented at TRECC. Table seating was a huge success and we are please to confirmed that they will be back for both artists, industry and the general public to enjoy. The scale of the show and room will return and more tables will be available as well as tiered theatre style seating.

In TRECC’s Grande Cabaret Mode, it is much more than just the presentation of the coveted Golden Guitars - it's a fast-paced concert that's a night of non-stop entertainment and special magic moments you won’t see any where else.

With the theme - 'Then. Now. Forever. Australian Country.' the night is sure to include a look back at the last 50 years as well as celebrate the recording excellence of the past 12 months!

Commencing in 1973, the Awards are the nation’s longest running music awards and play a vital role in developing and promoting Australian country music talent.  

Presented by Tamworth Regional Council and the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), The Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards are the nation’s longest running music awards concert.
