The Tanya Tucker Story celebrates Tanya Tucker, the Texas Tornado, who, as a 13 year old, shook the country music world in 1972.
Starring Donna Fisk, the show also highlights the parallels and connections that Donna had growing up to those in Tanya’s life. Both were drawn to country music at an early age when they listened to their favourite singers on the radio and both had fathers who were key figures in their musical and career development.
Tanya, one of the few female country singers to be called an ‘Outlaw’ alongside greats like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, has had an enduring rollercoaster career with a stream of top charting hits. From the lows of relationship break-ups and personal battles, to the highs of comebacks and new-found successors in recent times, including her first two Grammy Award wins in 2020, Tanya continues to perform and record today.
