Welcome to the NAIDOC Debutante Ball 2025!
The Tamworth NAIDOC Debutante Ball is a formal ceremony where young Indigenous men and women are introduced to their community as emerging adults. Rooted in the tradition of debutante balls, this event has been culturally adapted to reflect and celebrate Indigenous identity, values, and heritage.
The debutantes and their partners are presented to Elders, community, and families. The event will include a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremonies, and traditional performances such as dance, music, or storytelling, blending cultural traditions with modern celebration.

The Tamworth NAIDOC Debutante Committee were founded in 2022 with the aim to see young, local Aboriginal men and women make their debut in the Tamworth community. It was established that the NAIDOC Debutante Ball would be an annual event during NAIDOC week celebrations to target all Aboriginal young people between the ages of 16-22 years by putting a spin on traditional debut's by adding cultural components to boost confidence and leadership skills.
