Award winning singer-songwriter, Melody Moko, returns to Tamworth Country Music Festival with a special, intimate show
Growing up in Adelaide with her dad’s impressive record collection, Melody knew from a young age that she wanted to sing like Linda Ronstadt and write songs like Bob Dylan.
Her style is a natural and heartfelt extension of her personality and perspective on life. Melding contemporary and edgy lyrical content with finessed Americana production. One thing we love about Melody Moko it’s her no-holds-barred honesty and guts to frame it exactly how it is.
Her debut album, The Wreckage announced the arrival of one of our most exciting new singer-songwriters. The impressive follow up, Two Kids and A Radio, produced by Grammy nominee, Neilson Hubbard, catapulted her to the top of the ARIA charts, took home the Golden Guitar Award for New Talent of The Year along with a QMA for Best Country Song (“Like Hank Would”) and a finalist for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.
“Melody Moko is the real deal” – Troy Cassar-Daley
“I am so easily a fan” – Beccy Cole
“Melody takes you on a trip to dark places, beautiful and gloriously Australian” – Fanny Lumsden
Melody’s latest album, Suburban Dream, cements her as an unrivalled innovator in the craft - transcending everything that’s come before from her. It’s powerful and intense and most certainly garnered a degree of controversy and divisiveness – just like Melody. This is an album that doesn’t pander to anything or anyone. It’s that sort of collection of songs. And they are sung like they matter – very, very much. And they do.
There’s a long list of admirers of Melody Moko’s work – many inviting her to open their own shows including Don Walker, Ian Moss, Troy Cassar-Daley, Diesel, Tim Rogers, The Whitlams, Catherine Britt, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham and Fanny Lumsden.
Artists like Melody Moko find their people – and people who need Melody’s words and insights find her.
Joining Melody Moko will be award winning Victorian duo, Ally Row. Drawing inspiration from Mumford & Sons and Of Monsters and Men, the duo is armed with velvety harmonies, guitar, banjo, harmonica and stomp box. Their dynamic sound breaks barriers and their rise has been unstoppable. With performances during Triple J Unearthed NYE on the Hill, Americana In the Park (TCMF 2025) & Port Fairy Folk Festival, their music has also broken out across the radio and television airwaves both in Australia and internationally thanks to hit singles, Middle of the Road, This Time and The Great Unknown.
