CMAA Academy graduate and singer-songwriter Talitha Jae presents Matrescence in the Round — an intimate songwriter’s round bringing together five singer-songwriters to explore the wonderfully messy, beautiful, exhausting and completely life-changing experience of becoming a mother.

Through original songs, stories and honest conversation, Talitha Jae, Olive Mae, Tania Nichamin, Angela Easson, and Virjilla Joyce will share their own experiences of motherhood and the many ways parenthood can change us.

The transition into parenthood is one of the biggest identity shifts we experience, yet it’s rarely talked about openly.

Matrescence is the word for the profound physical, emotional and psychological transition into motherhood — the joy, the grief,Through the uncertainty, the love, and the strange feeling of becoming someone new while still trying to work out who you are.

This show aims to create a space where new parents feel genuinely seen, validated and understood, while inviting partners, grandparents, friends and the wider community into a deeper understanding of that journey.
