Fresh from touring throughout Europe, Australian singer-songwriter Leigh Marks brings an intimate songwriter performance to The Listening Room, sharing songs and stories from a journey that has taken him from the Blue Mountains to audiences across Australia and overseas.

 Blending indie folk, blues and roots influences, Marks has built a reputation for heartfelt performances that explore resilience, connection, gratitude and personal growth. His latest album, Mavis Said, was recorded on the New South Wales South Coast with producer Syd Green and drew inspiration from family, nature and the enduring wisdom of his late grandmother. The album marked another step in a musical journey that began with his departure from the band world and a move towards a more personal style of songwriting.

Alongside songs from his first two albums, Marks will share new material written during and after an extended period of touring throughout Europe. Written on trains, in unfamiliar cities and later back home in the Blue Mountains, the songs document a period of change and reflection. They explore personal growth, the challenge of balancing creativity with everyday life, the healing influence of nature, and the search for meaning and connection in a world that often feels increasingly fast-moving and disconnected.

Influenced by artists such as Ben Harper and Chris Cornell, Marks combines powerful vocals, honest storytelling and a deep connection to place. Whether reflecting on life on the road or the quiet perspective found at home in the mountains, his songs seek to uncover what remains important when distractions fall away.

Currently writing and recording new material from his home in the Blue Mountains, Marks is creating his most intimate work to date. These new songs continue to explore themes of discovery, belonging and the guiding role that music can play in helping us stay centred amidst the noise of modern life. Following his Tamworth appearances, Marks will continue writing and recording before returning to Europe later in 2027.
