Presented By ADFAS Tamworth Region
Jenny lived for four years in Cairo and worked closely with the Egyptian Tentmakers – men who do superb fine appliqué panels, which were originally used for lining tents. The art is dying and Jenny took exhibitions to Australia, France, and Spain and will talk about the history and development of the Tentmakers’ appliqué.
The Association of Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (ADFAS) is a group of 35 Societies that offer their members a series of monthly informative and entertaining illustrated lectures plus some workshops covering a broad range of subjects relating to art.
The talks are usually complemented by a friendly social gathering before or after with refreshments. Together, the 35 Societies form the Association of Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, the central body responsible for the overall programming and lecturer schedules. Each local Society is managed by a volunteer chairman and committee who organise the presentation of the annual program of six to nine lectures.
